New eResources – December 2016
The following databases were added to the Library’s collection recently:
IndiaStat – provides secondary level socio-economic statistical information about India, its states, regions and sectors.
Indigenous Peoples: North America – explores the political, social, and cultural history of native North American peoples from the sixteenth century well into the twentieth century. The content is sourced from American and Canadian institutions, as well as direct-from-source from newspapers from various tribes and Indian-related organizations.
Japan Times Archive – delivers over a century of news and history on world affairs, written in English, from a Japanese perspective. Every issue, published from March 1897 is searchable.
Making of the Modern World, 1450-1914 – documents the dynamics of Western trade and wealth that shaped the world from the last half of the 15th century into the beginning of the 20th century. The collection provides full-text searching of an abundance of rare books and primary source materials, including: Monographs; Serials; Political pamphlets and broadsides; Government publications; Proclamations; a wide range of Ephemera; and more.
Slavery in America and the World : History, Culture & Law – every English-language legal commentary on slavery published before 1920, which includes many essays and articles in obscure, hard-to-find journals in the United States and elsewhere.
